I have several rose bushes that I planted for the sole purpose of photographing the blooms they produce.Often times I single out a blossom and shoot the image right on the bush.I the case of this photo however I decided that I wanted to photograph the rose on a white background with studio lights.I sprinkled the yellow rose with water ,and then angled the shot to expose the right side of the image, focusing on the petals the extend away from the flower, there by catching the edge of a lovely yellow rose.

My mother was a freelance photographer with a darkroom of her own, I used to help her develop her work.
